Steel detachable chain is made from special hot rolled strip steel and is heat-treated to assure high strength and long wear life. The links are precision formed for pitch uniformity and heat treated to assure high strength and long wear life.
The links can easily be assembled or disassembled by flexing the chain and tapping the link in or out. The chain should always be operated with the closed side of the barrel against the sprocket. Steel detachable chain is designed for moderate loads and speeds. Plain chain is used for transmission drives and with interspersed attachments for conveying applications. This type of chain is very economical and easy to install and repair.
S Steel Detachable Chain Disassembly
Disassembling and assembling S steel detachable chain is extremely easy unless the chain is frozen or extensively rusted. For extreme cases use our steel detachable chain breaker.
Step 1:
Pick a spot to do the disassembly and release any tension and tensioning devices on the equipment, it is recommended that the chain is straight for easiest dis-assembly.
Step 2:
Rotate chain to required position to allow for the barrel it to easily slide freely out of the hook portion of the chain.
Step 3:
Once the right position is reached it should be easy to disassemble the chain by simply sliding the barrel out and off to the side.
Results:
Your steel detachable chain should now be disassembled and ready to be adjusted or taken off the equipment.
